CORPORATE AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECT: YAMAMAY & BEDO, TO EMPOWER WOMEN
BEDO has been running a successful 3-years program facilitating an Italian international brand corporation in executing their Social Responsibility program in Indonesia.
- 90 “less fortunate” women from 6 villages of Bali were provided free training to be skilled in the garment industry.
- All beneficiaries are now receiving orders from the garment industry as well as running their independent small business.
- Personal Capacity Building was given as a package during the program.
- The villages have facilitated on-going follow-up activities such as small courses, micro co-operatives & work groups.
This project was implemented in collaboration with Fashion for Development, which purpose is to educate, empower, enhance & enrich the lives of women and children in different countries by creating jobs through fashion and creating awareness thanks to fashion’s powerful visibility.

HOW DO WE COORDINATE ?
- Through the extended network of BEDO, we coordinate this CSR execution through collaborative efforts with:
- provincial, regencies & city governments
- villages authorities
- government social works agencies
- PNPM Mandiri Perkotaan – a national coordinator for citizen empowerment to eradicate poverty
- a pool of expert from an export garment industry which was appointed by the donor to collaborate. This company then recruited the beneficiaries as their suppliers
